Case Study: Powerex/Hawaiian ProLine
The Assignment:
Revitalize both brands; reposition the company from generic windsurfing OEM to industry driver.
The Result:
Developed all new branding, website and collaterals. Reworked/energized existing logos. Created “Windsurfing's Leading Edge” slogan. Design new e-commerce website from ground up. Completely reworked all product (Masts, Booms and Stand Up Paddle) graphics into a cohesive system. Supervised product photography & retouching, wrote and designed sales brochures and new advertising campaign.
Powerex and Hawaiian Pro Line became recognized for more than great products. Both brands took their place at the forefront of the industry and the sport.

Gil Gaus Design redesigned the way our products looked and pushed our branding head-and-shoulders above everyone else. Our advertising campaign did something new in our industry– it was competitive and provocative; turning heads by focusing on product benefits, not just action shots. I was nervous to run some of the ads– and that’s a good thing!
I made a lot of late night calls to Gil from our factory in China. He seemed to not care as much about the late hours as he did about getting our product just right. I appreciate that work ethic. You’re not going to get that from a big corporate operation.
